Anirban Sen Gupta

Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Case Western Reserve University

Dr. Anirban Sen Gupta is the Wallace R. Persons Endowed Professor of Engineering, with Full Professor tenure in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. He has multidisciplinary training in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. Dr. Sen Gupta has been a faculty member at CWRU for 18 years, and his laboratory’s research focused on design of bioinspired materials and therapeutics for applications in the areas of critical care medicine, cardiovascular diseases, wound healing and cancer. The Sen Gupta lab research is supported by funding from NSF, NIH, DoD, DARPA, State of Ohio, and Case-Coulter Translational Research Partnership. Dr. Sen Gupta is a Fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, Fellow of International Society for Biomaterials Science and Engineering, and Senior Member of the National Academy of Inventors, USA. He has also co-founded a biotech startup, Haima
Therapeutics, with a vision for translation and commercialization of technologies developed in his lab.
