Janice Moser PhD

Lead Biologist, Sciperio, Inc.

As the Lead Biologist at Sciperio, Dr. Janice Moser is working to bridge current biological capabilities with engineering development in the field of bioreactors and bioprinting. She is responsible for leading a team of cell biologists and coordinating with the engineering division on prototype design and testing of a novel advanced bioreactor for high cell density and capable of austere conditions. Her current focus is utilizing biology, biochemistry, and engineering to manufacture mammalian cells such as red blood cells and neutrophils as part of the On-Demand Blood Program.

Janice received her Ph.D. in Immunology from Emory University in 2002. She played an integral role in the development of a modular human in vitro biomimetic immune platform called the MIMIC System while working at VaxDesign Corporation in Orlando, FL. In 2010, VaxDesign, along with the MIMIC System technology, was acquired by Sanofi Pasteur. During her time at Sanofi, Janice balanced work on vaccine candidate development and evaluation with continued optimization of in vitro human immunology testing platforms. She has over 16 years of experience as an immunologist and research leader in the development and testing of new prophylactic and therapeutic treatments with a previous focus in vaccine development including Dengvaxia, FluZone, and pre-clinical testing of RSV candidates. She has 20 co-authored peer-reviewed publications, 2 U.S. patents and several pending patent applications in in vitro human testing platforms and novel-designed bioreactors.
