Jing Ning MD, PhD

Former Senior Biologist/Clinical Evaluator, Health Products and Drug Branch, Health Canada

Jing Ning, MD, PhD, is a consultant for Beijing Pro-Heme Biotech Co., Ltd (ProHeme), where she focuses on developing innovative polymerized hemoglobin products (PolyHb-CAT-SOD-CA). Previously, she served as a Senior Biologist and Clinical Evaluator with the Biologic and Radiopharmaceutical Drugs Directorate (BGTD) at Health Canada, working within the Clinical Evaluation Division for Hematology, Oncology, and Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Ning earned her medical degree from Shanxi Medical College in China and practised at the First Teaching Hospital of Beijing Medical College. She later obtained both her Master’s and PhD degrees in Physiology from McGill University in Canada. Her graduate and
post-doctoral research extensively focused on the safety and efficacy of HBOCs in preclinical studies.

With over a decade of experience at Health Canada, Dr. Ning conducted clinical evaluations for safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance, leading to the authorization of biologic drug products for the Canadian market. Her expertise in HBOCs was further honed during her tenure at Hemosol Inc., where she played an important role in the preclinical development, clinical review, and regulatory affairs of the HBOC product.
