Julie Rayes

Associate Professor, University of Birmingham

Julie Rayes holds a PhD in thrombosis and hemostasis from the University of Paris VII Denis Diderot in France. She is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Birmingham in UK and holds a British Heart Intermediate Fellowship. Her research focuses on understanding the mechanisms by which cell damage drive platelet activation and dysfunction and their contribution to immunothrombosis and thrombo-inflammation in acute infection and inflammation (e.g sepsis) and chronic inflammation (e.g. sickle cell disease).
