Michael Goodman MD

Professor of Surgery, University of Cincinnati

Dr. Michael Goodman is a Professor of Surgery specializing in general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care. He trained in general surgery at the University of Cincinnati and completed a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Dr Goodman serves as the Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Surgery and pursues projects in both basic and clinical research, focusing primarily on the relationship of coagulation to post-traumatic inflammation in the settings of traumatic brain injury and polytrauma. These research studies have been funded by the NIH and United States Air Force. Clinically he maintains a surgical practice in complex gastrointestinal surgery, enterocutaneous fistulas, hernia repair, and abdominal wall reconstruction.
